Responsibilities included programing, conceptual design of Transport offices and design development, construction documents and client relations for a LEED certified $147 million intermodal facility.
Project included renovations to an existing automated skyway station, new parking structure, bus rapid transit stations, retail, and a 100,000 sf transport offices and regional transportation management center. Project also included the overall planning and construction documents of an existing historic train depot (currently a convention center) for an adaptive re-use for a transfer point for local bus and passenger rail.
Design involved building analysis, site design and community involvement in the downtown site.
Cooperative agency project. Transportation Authority needed new offices to accommodate staff and Florida Department of Transportation required a transportation management center. The total project involved Amtrak rail, bus rapid transit stations, connection to existing skyway station, parking, bus terminal, and Greyhound bus.
The transport office, retail, plaza, connection to the skyway station and parking was part of Phase One.
The transport offices separated secured and private areas for staff from the public council board room. Both were easily accessible from the skyway station and parking. Future plans included connection of bridge to Amtrak rail and additional parking.
Project not built due to delays from client.
